As the major information resource of the University of Technology and Agriculture,
the Library provides a wide range of library based services in both traditional
and electronic services. The collection covers all subjects studied in UTA.
However most of the services are available for public. The principal collections
are held in Main Library which also provides principal services. There are also
nine separate libraries, for each particular Faculty as well as for Institute of
Mathematics and Physics, Institute of Humanities and Economics Sciencies and
Foreign Languages Department. All UTA libraries have a total stock of nearly
270.000 books, over 270 subscribed Polish periodicals and 81 foreign ones. Moreover,
the Library collects a number of special collections: theses and dissertations,
patents and standards, maps and audio-visual materials. The Main Library takes also
part in interlibrary projects such as co-operative cataloguing, preparing subject databases
and some other areas of librarianship and scientific information.
